With so many restaurants available in Dubai to dine at you’re often spoilt for choice. It’s always such a hard decision to find a spot that not only that has great food but good vibes as well. I am so glad that a couple of months ago Eddy and I found the most date night worthy restaurant in Dubai that we are now regulars at! So make sure you put Asado at the top of your list next time you’re trying to decide just where to dine.
Asado is located within the Palace Downtown. Make sure you wander around and discover the beautiful surrounds of the hotel on your visit as I always seem to find a new hidden corner. The Palace is situated within the heart of Dubai and is renown for its signature Arabian architecture and stunning views of the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa.
Asado is an Argentinian restaurant known for its extensive menu that remains true to Argentine culinary traditions. Of course beef is the backbone of this restaurant, but a whole array of other tasty treats are also available. Asado also has the largest selection of Argentine beverages in the entire Middle East!
The ambience within the restaurant is amazing with the beautiful brickwork décor and rustic touches. It is extremely welcoming with the warm chocolate brown tones creating a very homey atmosphere.
The service is particularly exceptional and they always present you with the premium cuts for the day. The Cabrito Asado, or roasted baby goat is their signature dish and is prepared on a parrilla which is an open grill located at the heart of the restaurant – quite the site to be seen!
The Asado Terrace is incredible thanks to its prime position located directly across from the iconic Burj Khalifa! We sat back and enjoyed our drinks out on the terrace gazing at the Burj Khalifa while we waited for our entrees to arrive.
Our entrees were exceptional and included:
- Palta a la parrila – an amazing mix of avocado, tomato, sour cream, bell peppers and lime dressing.
- Chorizo criollo con morrones asado – this grilled home made chorizo with bell peppers was a standout dish!
- Ceviche de gambas – prawns and mango topped with a passion fruit dressing.
- Empanadas – you can’t visit an Argentinian restaurant and not order some empanadas. We opted for a beef, chicken and onion & cheese version.
We were surprised when Eddy was presented by our waiter with a selection of different mustards, salts and sauces from around the world that would accompany his steak! We loved tasting them all and managed to choose the perfect one for his main course that was on its way.
My favourite dish hands down would have to be the ceviche. So light and refreshing and perfect for a hot summers day. I must admit I have revisited Asado while passing through Dubai Mall just to order this dish – yes it is that good!
During the wait between entrees and mains make sure you head out to the terrace for sunset and watch the fountain show with uninterrupted views – the best bit is you beat the normal crowds that are gathered around the Dubai Mall entry and you can enjoy the show all to yourself!
Our main courses arrived and Eddy’s Ojo de bife – the 280g Argentinian beef rib eye steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was full of flavour. It was the hero dish of the evening and highly recommended by Eddy! The greatest thing about Asado is although they specialise in steak they also have an extensive menu of seafood options available which was perfect for me. I decided on the Merluza con arroz negro y salsa de langostinos – a Chilean sea bass with squid ink risotto, prawn bisque and sweet potato chips. The sides that we were suggested to accompany the mains were tasty and matched the meal perfectly.
We popped out once more to the terrace and enjoyed the spectacular Burj Khalifa Laser show. Accompanied by an amazing soundtrack and incredible visuals, we had front row seats to this wonderful, colourful light show.
We definitely saved the best until last – dessert of course! On the recommendation of our server we decided on the Dulce De Leche pancakes. Boy, they did not disappoint! The Dulce De Leche is actually prepared in-house which I was very impressed with and the taste coupled with the pancakes and ice cream is just unreal. Be prepared to fall in love! You will just have to try them for yourself to see exactly what I mean!
With live music and tango performances scheduled every Sunday night from 930pm – midnight I definitely know where our next date night will be. How fun!
So for the dreamiest date night and dinner with the perfect ‘Dubai’ view make sure you visit Asado for the taste of Argentina!
